I am currently an Army officer on leave for law school (at U. of Virginia). I have long been interested in consulting and have friends that have gone into it with nothing but great things to say about it (unlike my friends at law firms)...
I have the option of either entering the JAG Corps or reverting back to the "normal" Army where I would not practice law but would lead more people, be responsible for more equipment, training, planning, etc.
Which would be the best way to position myself for a future in MC? Would they be turned off by someone going to law school then wanting to lead troops, or would they prefer it if I had managed more people?
Should I plan on studying for the GMAT and try to apply to business school out from the military instead? And how would business schools view me (if I was a JAG or if I was a normal officer with a law degree).
I greatly appreciate any guidance from those of you with military experience...
