Re: " have 10 years of IT experience with fortune 50 companies.Does the addition of MBA help?"
If you are asking whether it would help in entering strategy consulting ... yes it would ... it would be pretty much mandatory to allow you to move from F50 IT into anything like strategy consulting in areas of stratgey, marketing, ops, etc. Note that the only MBA which is going to gve you the credential to move into strategy consulting, is a degree from a top 10 or maybe top 15 school. The strategy firms do nlt source new consultants much fromn schools outsie that league.
Now *if* you have been doing *very* high level work in the F 50, e.g. if you are *often* working for yout CIO on critical projects, there is some chance you *might* be able to move into an *IT* strategy role at a firm like Accenture (SITE group), Booz-Allen (ITG), McKinsey (BTO) ... but, (a) that's *only* if you have been doing high level IT work, (b) would *still* be enhanced by a top-school MBA, and (c) would not happen *this* year, due to the continuing slack demand for professional services.
