Applied to Roland Berger, CVA, MercerMC, Arthur D Little, McKinsey, Marakon, Monitor, Bain, LEK, BostonCG, Bain I think, Spectrum, and a coupla others I forget.
Heard back within a week from most of them (one decided within an afternoon of receipt so obviously thought long and hard about it) probably 60-70% all of which were negative.
Roland Berger though were by far and away the most civil incidentally.
Think I am being shafted because I am not Oxbridge etc and this pisses me off right royally as have so much work experience as a freelance marketing consultant, a management consultant for a charity, financial services experiences and have run a society and held elected positions.
Still if they want to employ clueless idiots (in a Deloitte Consulting presentation) they had to explain that they made their money "from expalaining to companies how their computers work" then go ahead. particularly galling when you see fresh faced chimps giving strategy advice to comapnies such as Marconi - good job fellas' you really know the way the wind is going!
Oh well, not bitter so much as pitying HR departments. If you have any luck or want some more advice/support mail me on rssweetman@excite.com. Good luck.

I'm at Oxbridge with a predicted 1st and got no invitations to interviews. They do think very highly of work experience, which is exactly what I lack.
