I think you should not be embarrased of the fact that you have a life outside of your career. Companies are much more diverse nowadays and no so black and white, they understand that people have other committments. But I think it might be a bit intimidating that you are so young and are able to affort such an expensive ring. |

Great advice, carineH. Wear the ring to make a naive political statement that will fall on deaf ears, then don't get the offer because of it.
Don't wear the ring - you're just asking for trouble. You have to do whatever it takes to get the job (excluding lying, inflating), and there's no reason to shoot yourself in the foot out of the gate.
The advice on these boards is really pathetic at times.
