As a single female, I often feel that I am offered less money. I think when employers see that you are getting married, they are less hesitant to offer you the big bucks. There is a good article on the vault about single discrimination. I've even thought about wearing a band to interviews. You may want to get an artificial ring (or your fiance may even have the dough for a real one) that is smaller, so that people will know that you are engaged, but not think you're a rich bitch. |

I would leave the ring at home. You are going to run the risk of the firm wondering how committed you will be to the job. Consulting demands huge committment... don't give them a reason to think you may be distracted.
I have a friend who went through this and wore the ring a few years ago. She said if she had to do it over again, she would have removed the ring.
