I will be graduating this coming December (I will only be 21 and in college 3.5 years) and want desperatly to get a job in the consulting field. I will only graduate with a 3.6 in accounting, but have a 4.0 both in my major and in the business school as a whole. (Rough Freshman year) I have tons of EC's...for instance, I am in the process of founding an investment club that will start with over $250,000 in assets (we are only a few days from getting the money), but I need to know what these firms specifically look for. I will have the stigmatism of being from the University of ALabama forever and need to do something to separate myself from that. How do I go about getting a job in the Northeaset when I live 1500 miles away with hardly any contacts? Does cold calling firms work? Money isn't an object........yet.......I just want to get my foot in the door. Thanks for the help. |

Time is on your side, so consider taking a few electives and/or stretching out that schedule a semester and graduate in Spring of 2003. Use the extra time to do some charity work or just be young a bit longer.
If money is a problem, consider another part time job.
