In Reply To: I'm two semesters away from graduation, double-majoring in PoliScie and Business Management. My aspiration is to get into consulting industry. I enjoy studying political science. However, I've been considering dropping this major and taking more quantitative classes in order to become a stronger candidate when I apply for jobs in consulting. Would political science major look good on my resume? I will greatly appreciate your comments.
Message: Have a beer or two. Enjoy. Expect an upturn sometime this coming summer or fall. We're not going back to dot.com mania any time soon, but I fully expect demand to improve nicely over the course of this year. Perhaps to the level it was in 1995 or 1996. Normal, perhaps a bit below normal, but not far. If you are really sweating things look out for some kind of volunteer work in the meantime. Something which can bolster your resume. You are fortunate because you are still in school. The people with REAL problems are last year's grads and the ones graduating this spring!
