I am a former Accenture consultant that is looking to either join KPMG Consulting or work as an independent consultant with a local retailer.
Facts
1) Independent Consultant pay = $37 per hour - $3 for third party fee * 90 (45 hour work weeks) = $3060 biweekly with zero travel. This equals to around 75K a year but without medical or dental.
2) Currently have 1.5 years experience from Accenture
3) Accenture salary was 55K with Overtime (20%)
I am curious if the extra 2-3 years at KPMG Consulting would be THAT much of a career boost rather than doing the independent gig on my own. I don't anticipate making much more than $60K at KPMG but I am a little bewildred as to whether or not the extra years at KPMG will or will not help me LONG term.
Thanks in advance for any and all help. It has been a rough year for all of us but things are starting to get better.
