I will be graduating in May 2003 from Wharton and my GPA is a 3.5. I have excellent extracurricular activies, internships at two ibanks, and have started my own business as well.
I've decided I dont want to do ibanking and was wondering if I have a shot at the consulting firms - not the Big 3 but firms like monitor or mercer and Big 5 firms like deloitte consulting, anderson etc. I understand that the industry is basically in a hiring freeze right now but hopefully this will change - I will be starting fulltime work in the summer of 2003. Please let me what you think my chances are and give me any advice from your experiences. I have excellent interviewing skills and believe I will ace those cases :) |

Wharton BS or Wharton MBA? Obviously MBA you're fine, but with Wharton BA, you're right in the most competitive pack of ugrads vying for a position. The economy doesn't help either. You probably have a better shot at an ibank - as it is less sensitive to the downturn than consulting(although still sensitive). Also, try to raise that gpa - in this economy, anything will help.
