I agree with most of the accessments made in this thread.
If these were "normal" times and all other things being equal, of course you would chose the more pretigious and better respected firm over a well repected but not "top of the stack" firm (such as a Big 5 firm like PwC). Sorry. My post got "sent" before I finished typing it in. Here it is in full.
If these were "normal" times and all other things being equal, of course you would chose the more pretigious and better respected firm over a well repected but not "top of the stack" firm (such as a
Big 5 firm like PwC).
Accenture is a leader in "business consulting"
such as human performance management, strategy and business start-ups;
but it is THE leader in both IT consulting as well as strategic technology and business technology research.
However, all other things are NOT equal, in the
sense that times are NOT "normal." Career-track
jobs are scarce and almost non-existent for recent
college and grad-school graduates.
So accept any position, even if it's not from your first choice -- even if it's from PwC (or some other Big 5).
Think of it as accepting an admission to your
"safe school" with plans to transfer over the the "ivy" or other top school once a year or two passes and things are a little different.
