I am a PhD candidate in the hard science with minimal business background. (I worked with a startup as part of the requirement for a hand-onclass I took at Sloan.) I'm interested in a strategy consulting career, but have heard that consulting firms are interviewing APDs only as a matter of courtesy. :-(
Should I even bother applying as an associate? How significantly will I improve my chance if I apply as an analyst?
