I recently completed an MBA from a State school in Florida. I have been looking at some of the consulting firms and their recruting patters. Do most consulting firms hire stricly from top schools, or do they consider other candidates. My experience is in the securities industry. What kind of salaries are usually offered to entry level consultants? |

Most consulting firms will consider and do hire candidates from a variety of schools, altho being from a top school makes getting a job easier. (Not that it's ever easy--see the credibility discussion in the "Community College" thread on the Bain message board). Sec industry experience will help if it means you can demonstrate a solid understanding of business principles and quantitative/analytical techniques.
