I didn't go to a top undergrad or have a good GPA (3.1) and my work experience is subpar to get into a decent B-school. And from what I have read, it's sort of pointless to attend an average Business school. However, I'm intelligent as hell. I scored a 1550 on my SAT. I was a partier in college. I did enough to get by.
So I want to do the right thing by going to a a good business school first even if this means speding a year in college first. However, my reasoning could be flawed?

You've got your head on straight. Most firms, and even government agencies, are nuts about the "best" schools, even though everyone studies from the same textbooks. Don't waste your time on anything less than the best--you'll only live to regret it.
