BIG Five v. Small Consulting Firm |

Good morning.
About 10 weeks ago I was let go by Accenture and have found myself interviewing with several small consulting firms. The two firms that are of interest are RCM technologies and Born Technologies. I have also interviewwed with both Deloitte and IBM Consulting. As you may know, both DC and IBM are in hiring freezes. Do I wait for the opportunity to work for another BIG 5 type firm or should I go with the small consulting firm? Any insight is appreciated.

Go with the small consulting firm if you haven't any firm offer from big 5. Small consult firms in major metropolitan areas contract with the same corporations that the big 5 firms contract with. A bird in hand is better than two in the bush when it comes to paying bills. You won't be slighted by the big 5 at a later date, they may actually need your can-do-all approach that you will experience through small consult firms with contracts to large corporations.
