Message: Hi, I need your advice and hope someone will provide some kind help. I went to some interviews last fall for MC and got two final rounds from two of the top three stras. Unfortunately, Both were killed, really pissed me off. I am a Ph.D in physical science. No business experience at all (looking forward to find some at moment and writing up at the same time). I did quite well in general CV questions and in market evaluation questions. In both of the companies' interviews, I was struck by market strategic questions (such as how to sell paper tissues or telephone cards in a country). The partners who interviewed me did not give any hints. They always said that what did you think when I asked them any questions. I have done very extensive preparations for all these interviews but I found that some of the case studies are really too difficult to prepare. The difficult thing is that I don't know what my interviewer want if I asked questions and he did not response. All the interview materials said that you have to ask first before you structure. This does not seems to be true for me, especially in the final rounds. I wish to know that if this is because of my lack of business experience ( my feedback from the companies, seems to be a good excuse for kicking me off) or because I did not put much efforts in preparing more cases (I have prepared hundreds of cases before I went to the interviews). Or it is because of the poor market conditions. I am going to apply again this year so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
