Well, if you are using the middle class general retailer business as an analogy, I have to point out that Walmart is the top outfit among its peers (ahead of Kmart and Target).
So if you are saying that Accenture is to consulting as Walmart is to middle market retailing, then that leaves either Kmart or Target for McK to be compared to. Since both those companies are top companies but second to Walmart, then you are saying that McK is second to Accenture. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to say, but in your enthusiasm to throw negative comments at Accenture, you goofed.
The other stuff you said was pretty much off the mark, too, but I won't go into it.
So, if Acc is to consulting as Walmart is to mid-market retailing, then, by your logic, Acc is number #1. So I guess Acc should be thanking you for the compliment. |

I not not the original poster who compared Accenture to Walmart but here is what I think he/she meant:
Accenture = Walmart
other big5 firms = KmartTarget
McK/B/B = higher-end more specialized stores that don't offer everything but whose products are of higher quality and reputation
