I was recently layed off at KPMG. Nobody is hiring, 2 years experience is considered nothing nowadays. I have been working my ass off for three weeks straight looking for work. Everyone has a hiring freeze in place. All my networking is worthless, everyone's hands are tied.
My entire career is ruined. I have a lot of anger right now towards KPMG. I'm getting desperate. I don't know what to do, all my income went to pay off loans, I have no income and no savings. I'm fuming, because I know of so many non productive people still left at KPMG just because they knew the right people.
Is anyone else out there? How are you handling it? I'm totally depressed right now. I mean this was supposed to be the rest of my life...

In today's work environment you can expect to lose your job, not by choice, at least four or five times in your career. It has happened to me four times, and in EVERY case I ended up better off that had I stayed. It takes a lot of hard work to find a job - in fact you should approach your job search as if it were, itself, a job. Get up early, work hard, go to bed as early as possible, and you will find a GREAT job soon.
