I have 11 years of work history (healthcare/manufacturing/service) and recently graduated from Keller Graduate School with a MBA with a emphasis in information systems. I have been unsuccessful in obtaining a non-technical job at a Big 5 consulting firm to date. I am not giving up the search however, the Y2K and millenium issues identified earlier explain some of the hiring freeze issues. I do have a opportunity to work for my current company as a E-Commece Coorinator. Do I take this position and learn, as much as, possible and continue to contact people for possible job opportunities 1st quarter of 2000? Beneficial? |

Here are some experiences I had recently:
I had several phone interviews for E-Biz positions. I have several years of industry experience and some system implementation background. After the interviews, I felt that the key was to be able to relate the present skills set to E-Biz projects.
The work will depend upon each firm. Mck, Booz, BCG will definitely keep going on strategy. This time it will be E-Biz strategy. Stamp as E-Commerce coordinator and then relate it with your education and experience. Believe it or not no one knows where it is going to end up. As long as you are billable it will work.
