Yeah, I think that we can all agree that there is a certain amount of BS that goes into this business (although it took me more than a couple of months to figure it out) but I look at the business and see what it is doing for me. I am getting a lot of exposure to different industries and companies, a good salary, and lots of perks (I happen to like free travel and free meals) and I don't have to work one hundred hours a week, in fact it is rare that I work more than seventy. It may be a bit of a sham but it is one that is working well for me. It may be true that I don't know many consultants I would want to grab a beer with, but it is better than working with these egotistical investment bankers that think they rule the world because they spend their early twenties putting pitchbooks together while wearing purple shirts from Banana Republic. |
