Since Gemini consulting and Cap Gemini merged with the old EY Consulting Services, the firm looks a little better to both clients as well as to B-Schools.
That guy was right, tho, if you are just a junior analyst doing coding or requirements gathering you may not be a strong candidate. This applies to just about any firm (and even non-consulting firm candidates). Using the example that the earlier poster gave, 2nd or 3rd year analysts at Accenture would not be strong candidates, but someone from the Strat and Business Architecture practice there would, as would an experienced manager from any practice.
So it depends on your experience, your practice and, of course, GMATs undergrad grades and recommmendations.
