Thanks to all of you who gave me support/advice. I'll let you know the outcome in a few weeks. |

I don't know where all the cruel posters come from - certainly not from within McKinsey.
try if you can to practice your case interviews with somebody, preferrably another consultant, ideally a McKinsey employee.
there is no doubt that you have a shot once you get the interview. I had a different situation - I barely scraped by my first rounds, and the feedback was, "well, we'll pass you on, but it was close. work on this stuff." and the final round interviewers got all that information, so I was presumably going in with a disadvantage, not unlike you. but I nailed the final rounds, well above the bar, and got the job. think about it - is an interviewer going to be blown off his feet in an interview, and then not give you the job based on a credential (or poor review) on the paper in front of him? no. bad credentials or reviews have a tendency to not let you in over the pre-interview hurdles, but beyond that it's in your hands.
