Re: Monitor vs Accenture vs Marakon
Marakon is making a name for itself, but it's still a long way from being in the same category as Monitor or Accenture.
Nevertheless, there are some advantages to joining an up-and-(hopefully)-coming firm. For one thing, you get a better shot at reaching a leadership position at the firm should the time comes that the firm really grows (since you were there in the 'early' days). Also, it will be harder to get lost in the crowd. You may get a better chance to be rotated around different kinds of engagements, thus increasing the span and scope of your skills. |

Marakon currently pulls a lot more than it's name recognition merits. this board is entrenched in traditional, entry level thinking (Which of the elite 3 or big 5 should I apply to? What are the rankings? etc.)... so Marakon doesn't show up much. but it is certainly already risen in the strat consulting circle. I would put Marakon in a special niche place behind M/B/B but ahead of Monitor, Mercer, Booz, etc.
