MMG was a great firm, great reputation, very intelligent people, somewhat chaotic, but a place where people loved to work.
And yes, it was destroyed by marchfirst that never understood the strat consulting business and thought that MMG consultants were something like accenture people who write code or system documentations.
Sad story. In Europe, under the terrible name marchFIRST Strategy Practice MMG is still alive and kicking. At least at some locations.
At least it is funny to note that USWeb initially paid about 500 mio for MMG, and after the merger with Whittman to marchfirst all 3 companies combined are valued at about 50 mio.
