I use to work in GS Risk Markets and now work for McKinsey. GS Risk Markets is not actually IBD but rather a "JV" between IBD and FICC. In any event, structuring catastrophe bonds is not a great career-builder (even with the GS name).
IMHO, the prestige of GS really resided in the IBD/M&A work. If you work in one of these groups, it will really open doors for you. Other groups within Goldman are less attractive in this regard. |

Having worked for McK in the past, I can honestly say that it is a first class organization that truly cares about it's employees. Yes, you'll work your tail off, but at this stage in the game you'll do that anywhere in Consulting. It sounds like you have nice problems to deal with.....
