I'm a Brit in France looking to make contact with Americans involved in KM consulting so don't be shy.
If you have any advice on external KM Strategy Consulting, I'd be happy to hear from you.
WHY?
Because I'm an MBA graduating in July. Because I'm interested in everything that involves "working smarter". Because I'm "concentrating" in KM, Innovation Management, Global Society and Business & E-Business. Because I'm pursuing independent research into KM.
I'm looking for a smart firm within which to pursue my interests in KM. I'm able to work in the USA.

one of the better books that i have come across on KM has been DEVELOPING KNOWLEDGE BASED CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS The Future of Professional Svcs by ROSS DAWSON check it out on google
i am also into the exact same topics u mentioned KM, Innovation Mgmt, E-Buss and graduated a Mgmt of Technology degree in NYC in dec
i think KM which has been a fad for so long is finally getting the attention it deserves and is a multidiscplinary field actually it should be called KNOWLEDGE SHARING because knowledge is tough to manage and the World Bank is a leader in knowledge sharing it is their mission to become a knowledge bank
a good definition of KM is: knowledge management involves efficiently connecting those who know with those who need to know, and converting personal knowledge into organizational knowledge.
Knowledge management focuses on how to identify, manage, share, and leverage all information assets-databases, policies and procedures, content, and staff and members' expertise and experience-to serve the organization.
