Durham,
I can not say how I got the offers. All I know is that I prepared my fit stories, had a specific reason as to why I was interested in there firm and how it fit with my long-term goals.
More importantly I outlined my strength and what I felt were my real assets.
Finally I made sure that I presented cases using a significant amount of structure, carefully listening to any feedback and soliciting help as I got it.
Don't get me wrong Luck is also part of the game. |

From Durham:
May I ask what Uni you are from, what course you study and whether you speak any other languages?
Rather direct and to the point I know (apologies for this).
But if you are studying Theology at Birmingham (a fine Uni) and have never spoken a non-English word in your life then things are looking up :-)
However if you study economics at OxbridgeLSE and speak fluent French, Spanish and German, then things look more as I expected them too.
[Not that I would begrudge you a fine career in consultancy and I wish you ever success].
It would also be great to know which firm you finally go for and why.
Thanks for getting back to me,
Durham
P.S. I thought I had read everything on consultancy going, but what are "fit stories"?
