In Reply To: Presently, I have been offered an excellent IT related job. This position will present me with excellent programming and IT leadership skills. On the other hand, I have completed one year of law school at a third tier school (in lower portion of my class)and I have the option of returning. If my ultimate goal is to become a consultant for a mangaement or IT consulting company, which path shold I take. Is it more sensible to finish the remaining two years of law school and use JD degreee to land a consulting job, or should I work in IT and hope to be accepted into a MBA program. There is no definate possiblity I will be accepted into a MBA program, but I have already been accepted and could still attend my original law shool. I am not looking to pracice law, but to become a consultant you need some sort of graduate degree. So do I stay in law school to get the JD degree. Or get some valuable work experiecne and forgo law school. If anyone has some excellent advice, could you please assist me.
Message: I finished a JD/MBA at a good school. I practiced law for a while. Being a lawyer is hell. Save yourself while you still can. Of the 12 other JD/MBAs I graduated with, only 2 are still lawyers. They hate it but feel trapped. Run while you can.
