OK, but shouldn't sound understanding of industries and competitive positions be something very valuable to any investor?
Also, since LBO-shops are anyway hiring I-Banks to execute deals, why do they need to have that kind of transactional expertise in-house as well? Sounds a bit strange to me. |

i think its a bias against consultants, but coming from bain may overcome it.
and often they will get someone from that industry if they want expertise from a particular industry.
finally, sure the banks execute deals, but the LBO shops must understand that like a core competency
