Top investment banks (Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch [Investment Banking side], CSFB M&A), top strategy firms (Bain, BCG, McKinsey) and elite strategy / M&A boutiques (LEK, Parthenon) all have nearly flawless records at top 5 b-schools.
The decision is really around (1) lifestyle for your 2-4 year stint and (2) how prepared you want to be for B-school or other jobs afterword.
Banks will make you an expert in a finance topic or M&A... strategy firms are arguably less limiting since the casework is more well-rounded.
