While it is true that ATK has an operations focus compared to Monitor this is partly because it is a larger firm. Why, even the top strat. firms McK and BCG do a lot more ops work than they let on. There is only so much strat work around and clients want firms to offer a broad range of services. ATK is more of a global firm and thus will offer more opportunities in that direction if you are so inclined. Monitor is really only known as a strat player of any rep in States. Final point, revenue per consultant is highest at the firms McK, BCG, ATK and Bain. |

I still can't decide which offer I should take, and time is of the essence. Would someone please articulate the difference between operations and strategy in terms of their implications for projects, clients and day-to-day work? I understand intuitively but haven't found any information on how this will really shape my work and my career. Also, will one firm help me more to move to a good job should I desire to leave consulting after a few years? Thanks.
