i just like to see if i can really influence someone's major life decision. no, but this is what i think: monitor has a better strategy reputation, but atk has a tremendous amount to offer if that is the kind of work you are looking for (more operations). monitor will also pay you more bonus. in terms of lifestyle, you will work really long hours at both places. i think monitor people are much ore laid back but also never hesitate to work 80 hour weeks. go with what your interests are in terms of what you want to end up doing in your day to day life. |

While it is true that ATK has an operations focus compared to Monitor this is partly because it is a larger firm. Why, even the top strat. firms McK and BCG do a lot more ops work than they let on. There is only so much strat work around and clients want firms to offer a broad range of services. ATK is more of a global firm and thus will offer more opportunities in that direction if you are so inclined. Monitor is really only known as a strat player of any rep in States. Final point, revenue per consultant is highest at the firms McK, BCG, ATK and Bain.
