I can see how the boutique experience would be "rich and rewarding," but would you say it is better than one of the elite firms? |

It would definitely depend on the person, right? There aren't just two kinds of consulting experiences but if I were to generalize, I think when comparing boutique vs. elite firms, both can be rich and rewarding. what's important to note here in comparison is what one place can offer that the other cannot. my experience is limited to working at boutiques so i have the one-sided view. but what i get that i do not think i can get at other ploaces, especially your forst two years: I can walk into my engagement partner's office anytime whenever I want to share my ideas. I talk to the client. I go to all the presentations. I present parts of the presentation. I get to sit in my client's boardroom and tell him what I think he should do with the future of his company. and i'm only 23 years old! i'm not so sure you can do all of those things at mckinsey your first year. correct me if i'm wrong?
