True,
Diamond has a very good strat reputation, and has beat out McKinsey, Bain, and BCG for quite a few cases.
However, in the implementation arena, they definitely don't match up to Scient, Sapient, or the like. However, perhaps in the future things will change as they're investing a lot of time into building their Marketplace Solutions center. |

I would definitely choose Diamond. The Big 5 are so big and beaurocratic that you really take your chances when you join. Some groups will give you great experience but many more will be horrendous places to work.
AS for prestige, you will quickly realize that so many people have worked for a Big 8 --> Big 6 --> now Big 5 firm along the way that it really impresses very few people. It really serves more as a stamp of approval than a truly prestigious experience (like true strategy firms).
Thus, if you think you will like Diamond better, there is no reason not to go there. I am an MBA at a top 10 and they have a very good and quickly improving rep.
Good Luck
