In Reply To: Kai: I didn't think you were contentious - I'm wondering who Brian and McKinsider really are - that's really who's fighting. I have found McK Insider to be good on a lot of stuff; Brian just seems to want to pick a fight. Maybe he really _is_ a McKinsey guy who needs to blow off steam from his lowly tasks that don't require much client contact. I think this board should be for anyone who does management consulting or for anyone who produces knowledge related to mgt consulting.. Looking at your site I see some interesting stuff, but explain how knowledge is 'inscribed' in an organization - this actually sounds like some contemporary literary criticism. I think Foucault uses the term. How does recognizing how knowledge is inscribed in a particular organization confer competitive advantage ? Does this have anything to do with 'workflow'? Have you guys ever heard of Business Design Associates in California ? Their practice touches on this stuff. Anybody else heard of them ? BTW, many Swedes speak ' better' English than most Americans.
Message: I'd been avoiding a follow up b/c it was clear it wasn't going anywhere. My beef w/ Brian is that his posts tend to be argumentative. Where that gets good conversation going, great, but where it's insulting, it has no place on the boards, IMHO. ============ Now as far as posting my identity. For political reasons, I can't do that. Believe me when I say I'm at McKinsey, but if I post my name up here, I'll get 100 different e-mails and phone calls from people saying, "How do I get through the interview process...." Also, such a divulgence would obligate me to give the party line on McKinsey, rather than the rather frank view I can give now in anonimity. If you don't want to take advice from an anonymous source, then simply don't read the posts from me. You will be passing up one good data point however.
