This is what is commonly accepted in the industry:
--"Top 5" strat is still AC, Delloitte, E&Y, KPMG, PWC (Despite separations)
--The McKinsey, Booz, Bain, BCG, Monitor, Mercer, etc. is considered "Top Tier," not classified as Top 5.

The firms described in the message above are commonly described in the industry as the "Big Five" strategy firms due to the fact that the all are, or were, parts of the "Big Five" accounting firms. But they're certainly not considered to be more prestigious than the McKinsey, Monitor, BCG crowd.
