There are so many changes going on the industry right now... What are the current big 5 and what is the advantage of being in one of the big 5 versus being in one of the smaller strat houses ? |

BIG 5 experience and name recognition is great but it is not the only way in. The reason recruiters call there as well as other big firms is that the probability of finding someone with good experience is higher. It is not just enough to work there, you could work in a smaller shop be just as successful..all you need to concentrate on is experience and strong project work.
If you are working on high profile projects (i.e. STP, eCRM, T+1..etc) and managing resources, you will be fine. Don't get caught up in the big 5 - three quaters of those consultants are automating paper processes and working on more efficient ways to milk a clients time without them finding out. If you work for the smaller guy and there are good ones out there...you will expose yourself to alot more and that is what makes you marketable.
