Hi Everyone,
I am currently enrolled in an Executive MBA program at Queen's University in Kingston, Canada and will graduate in May 2001.
I am very interested in the consulting industry but realize that consulting firms seem to typically hire either young candidates with little experience or experts in a specific industry. I am neither!
I am a 31 yo sales manager in the electronics industry and have been in sales/marketing for all 9 years of my career in Canada.
I also have a Masters Degree in International business and the equivalent of a BCom, both obtained from a French business school in Paris. I am also fluent in 3 languages (French, English, Arabic) and have some knowledge of 2 more (Spanish and German).
What are my chances of getting in one of the "Elite" firms or one of the Big Five ? How can I improve my chances of being considered for an associate/consultant position in one of those firms?
Thanks in advance for your feedback. |

I have an undergraduate degree in economics and an MSc and was accepted to undertake doctoral studies at berkeley in economics. But in view of the benefits of technical background would you suggest i undertake a different degree in engineering for instance and start afresh while i'm still ahead?
