Boy, this kid sure is bitter. Of course completing all or some portion of the CFA does not guarantee you admission into any program. But saying they "don't give a damn" is at least a little bit disingenuous. It is simply another piece of your puzzle. It shows you have committed a meaningful amount of time and effort (and maybe money) to bettering yourself. In short, if you portray the CFA experience in an appropriate way in your essays, etc. it can only help your application. As far as the sour grapes kid is concerned, having a GMAT and GPA within a particular school's range doesn't mean shit. If you're talking about H/S/W, almost everyone that applies to those schools is "within the range." As we all know (or should know) there is a lot more to your app than your GMAT and GPA. Good luck. |

I suggest we all view the CFA as an end in itself rather than as a means of getting into top MBA programs. It is surely worth at least 1/2 of a top 10 MBA ---> CFA + top 10 MBA together should give some edge especially if you are looking for a buyside job upon graduation.
