Harvard's name has reached far and wide so people won't think Michigan is better than HBS. However, versus a name that doesn't bring instant recall like MIT or Chicago, people in these areas will tend to believe that Michigan is better. Of course, this is a part of the world where you have people choosing Yale over MIT and Chicago because of the "halo" of Yale University. In fact, if I intended to return home I would probably have chosen Yale.

So according to your logic, if you were an American intended to return home, would you attend a new program like Oxford's MBA over the established one at LBS, due to the strong brand name of Oxford in the US? Kind of like your Yale over Chicago argument...
