Message: Some thoughts to the original question: 1. Both LBS and MIT have strong programs. MIT might have an edge academically (no nobel laureats at LBS as far as I know), on the other hand LBS might have stronger teaching (there must be a reason why MIT slipped in the BW ranking among students). 2. Among the relevant people, MIT has the stronger brand name (definitely in the US, most likely also in Europe and Asia). Having said that, I don't think that there are any international / European / Asian companies that would not recruit you because you went to LBS. In the end, you will have similar opportunities regardless which school you attend. 3. MIT has the stronger network (after all, LBS is a pretty new school). This will certainly continue to be true in the US, but probably not in Europe and Asia. Besides alumni, you will be able to network with people from London or from Boston, respectively, whatever this means to you. 4. London is a big, vibrant, fascinating city, but very expensive. Boston is beautiful, but relatively small and not very exciting. You should think about what you prefer.
