I am a 34 year old land use lawyer considering making a carreer change to strategy/managment consulting.
I have no formal business training and am considering applying for admission to CBS's 16 month MBA program, which starts in January 2000 vs. the 22 month program, which starts in Sept. 2001.
If I do the 16 month program, I'll finish in April 2002 (36 years old). If I do the 22 month program, I'll finish in June 2003 (37 1/2 years old). I know all about the fact that I'll be 37 1/2 anyway.
One of the posts in this string notes that it would be more difficult (but not impossible) for carrer changers to make the transition without internship experience.
I am wondering whether I would defeating the purpose of making a successful transition by taking the 16 month route? Please comment.
Also, is the internship the only difference between the two programs?
