I have heard that schools like Stanford and Wharton do not look kindly on reapplicants? Is that true? In that case why?
I have applied to six schools this year, I am afraid that I will be rejected by all of them, and I am starting to improve on my chances for next year. I am thinking to take my GMAT again and some courses at the local universities.
I will greatly appreciate to hear hints or any experience with the reapplication process.
Cheers and keep on posting

I don't know about Stanford, but I do know that Chicago, Kellogg, Wharton and HBS Admissions actually like reapplicants, especially if you had a pretty strong application the first (or second time) because it shows a real conviction.
I think the reasoning goes something like this:
"So you got dinged by
and clearly you could have gotten into another Top 5 or certainly a Top 25, but you chose instead to try again. That shows conviction in your believe that
is the right school to advance your career."
I think this is especially applicable if you were waitlisted by that school. It's the extra thing to push you over the line.
I was rejected by both Wharton, Kellogg, HBS and Stanford the first time I applied (w/ two years of experience) I reapplied to Wharton, HBS and then added Chicago. All three accepted me, so I'm guessing the reapplication didn't hurt me. In fact, I think it helped.
