The posts below are correct. Keeping in mind that you want to plug any holes you may have in your app, I think of the interview as a chance to answer the three critical questions every school is asking:
1. Why you? why are you special? how would
you add to the diversity of the class?
2. Why us? why this program? how does it fit
with your career aspirations?
3. Why now? this integrates the above
questions. you need to be able to explain
in 30 seconds or less how, given your
background and your career aspirations,
this particular school helps bridge this
gap.
I will be applying to Wharton for 01 admission, but interviewed last year for giggles. not hard, but you MUST do your homework. Be prepared to answer the essays questions all over again. Have a copy of your resume. Last of all, don't sweat the army of dorks sure to be huddled in the waiting room with you. Cheers! |

thanks to all who've contributed insights below. i find this board to be much more civil and helpful than some of the other troll-ridden ones out there.
regarding timing of the wharton app, does anyone know if they will even so much as glance at an app b4 the interview is completed? i submitted mid-feb but won't be doing the interview until next week. i'm kind of hoping that they might at least give it a once over to establish an initial impression. i'm also hoping that the mid-feb submission date pushes me up the que so that review commences as soon as the interview is done.
insights/comments anyone?
thanks for any help,
JB
