To answer your first question, a quote from NYU's brochure:
Prior to first enrollment: written request to be considered on a space-available basis. If you request to change your status, you relinquish all consideration under your original status.
After first enrollment: not possible, but part-time program can be accelerated |

but would you also happen to know if their P/T program has the same criteria for entry as their F/T program...and what about the Upstate Ny program; is that anything worthwhile.
