hey, does anyone have any thoughts on what would be better to obtain. An information technology depth at a business school, or a BS or MS in computer science? thanks for any advice or thoughts! |

It depends on what you want.
If you want to be a IS Engineer, then CS is a better choice. If you possibly want to get into others things besides engineering (project management, financial analysis, decisions support etc)then MIS is the better choice.
I have a BS in MIS and I had to make the same choice as an undergrad. Personally, I thought CS courses were way to technical for me. The funny thing is I did mostly technical work after I graduated.
The MIS degree enabled me transfer to project management which is what I am doing now. What I found is that CS people tends to be computer oriented and MIS people tends to be people oriented.
