thanks for the advice but having friends or relatives translate the rec is not an option. i agree that if i wrote my own it would be obvious, but i was planning on being straightforward about it anyway.
i'm just not sure what my approach should be given the situation. i'm obviously looking for the strongest rec possible and wondering how to achieve that. lately i've been thinking about asking a vp who i've worked with, but who doesn't know me as well as my direct supervisor.
i guess the best thing to do is just contact the schools i'm looking at and seeing what they'd prefer. if they don't give a solid direction i'm sure you'll see me back on this board.

I am interested in working overseas (anywhere would be fine) and I know Asia has a very high potential for growth of e-commerce which is an area I'd like to be involved in. How did you go about getting your job overseas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
