Message: I am currently a part-time MBA student at the University of Dallas (working full-time). I am about 21 hours into their 49 hour MIS program. I work in IT now, and I want to work in IT project management. Here's the dilemma: I am not sure if UD is regarded highly (or even regarded at all!) in the Dallas area (I have no plans to move) in regards to MBA grads, especially in MIS. Since my company will pay tuition and fees, I could switch to SMU or UTD (who I believe are more respected schools), but I bet I would not be able to transfer in all the hours I have already taken. Also, UD has fairly flexible scheduling (i.e. I can take a sememster off when work requires, take one class a semester, etc.) which is really a necessity for me: I am not sure that SMU or UTD would be as flexible. So, I am trying to decide whether to cut my losses now and change to a potentially more highly regarded (but less flexible) school in hopes that it would help me land a better position in IT project management; OR finish the program at UD. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
