If you intend to work in Brisbane or any other Aussie city for that matter, the AGSM will open more doors. Yes, MBS is formidable and reputable but AGSM has the edge of excellent faculty.
I would always take polls with a pinch of salt. However, they are ranked in the FT 100 for the most recent polls. Look unde the University of New South Wales. They are in fact in the Top 50 of those polls. Also, check out Business Week's write up of the AGSM on its MBA site. Asiaweek is another good source.
In any case, what really matters is what employers in the Aussie market regard as top recruitment sites and top calibre candidates. In these respects. AGSM & MBS come up tops.
You will find working in Sydney very plesasnt and being Australian business and financial hub also means a lot more opportunities than any other city, even Melbourne.
By now , you would have guessed that I went to school in Sydney and am pro AGSM. However, I'm sure any other Aussie alum would also agree that AGSM and MBS are tops.
Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for putting interesting insights regarding AGSM/MBS.
I am considering to apply to both schools for next January.
I was wondering whether you have some information on AGSM's campus in Hong Kong.
(as part of its exchange program)
In addition, I am very interested in a MBA with a "Chinese flavour" and I was wondering whether these schools have special electives or other China oriented activites.
Many Thanks
