this is the second time you posted this.
what do you mean it doesn't count. Does it mean if you are not one of the 2000 or so people going to H/W/S and whatever you consider the next four, you will be a loser for the rest of your life. How many people in America make 250K a year, about 2%, how many of them went to a top 5 school in their profession? Do the math, not many.
An MBA from a school like NYU (which is definitely not in anyone's top 7) definitely has a big leg up in the world, and can easily do well in life and has a decent shot at at BB bank of top 3 strategy firm. And even if he/she ends up in a boutique somewhere, there is a great future ahead.
For that matter, plenty of those who go to lessor quality schools can get some value out of their MBA. A social worker trying to change careers and goes to University of Florida or something will definitely improve his/her chances of changing career. And maybe one day be your boss (or maybe not).
