The future is not just about tech. with technical skills one needs direction, leadership, understanding of history, etc. these traits are always better culminated in a liberal arts context in great schools such as Harvard. It is why Harvard will continue to be important to mankind in itself. I agree that MIT's importance can only grow but I also think that it is the advent of technology and the enormous impact it has on society that soft skills provided in liberal arts will be equally more important. It takes technical skills to build an Atomic bomb but true heart and soul to prevent it from happening. You can't have mad scientists running around without an appreciation of history, sociology, etc.
